Taking Effective Notes

What is taking note?

👉 Taking note is writing down the keywords and read it again with our own words that we can easily understand.

Do you know why do we have to take notes?

👉 Helps us to pay attention to the class
👉 Helps us to improve our memory

👉 Helps us engage our senses
👉 Helps us organize ourself
👉 Helps us process data and information

Why do we review notes after class?

▪ We lose 80% of what we hear if it is not reviewed within a few hours.

Identify any question for peers so that in the next class, you can easily ask your lecturer.

You doesn't have enough time to absorb all the information given in the class.

How do we take notes efficiently?

Put the date and label to your notes.
Give yourself some space to write.
 Use abbreviations and symbols.
Use an outline to show the main ideas, support and examples.
Use your own word that you can uderstand easily.

While taking notes:

Ask questions and discuss if its permitted
If not, jot questions in your notes
Seek out meaning

HOW DO WE REVIEW OUR NOTES AFTER THE CLASS:

Watch the board or overhead projector
If an instructor writes something down, the material is important
Notice the instructor's interest level
