Do you know why we oftenly forgot things?

👉 Interference

👉 Last minute study ( cramming )

Memory strategies ( how to improve our memory )

HERE'S MORE ABOUT THE MEMORY STRATEGIES THAT WE NEED 

👉 Allows a time for the information to consolidate in the long-term memory .

👉 Taking break between learning session allow you to think and organize the information.

👉 Break reading material down to avoid cramming . As example, 2 chapters per day and not all chapter per day before the examination.

👉 Rehearsal - Repeat the information many times.

👉 Associate in any event with a person, place, things, picture, feelings or situation.

👉 Make an acronym for every information that you had so that you will do revision easily.

👉 Visualize the image of the information needed. 


Understanding concentration







▪ Consentration is focusing your attention on what you are doing.



▪ It is important during studying, listening and reading.







Reason of the poor concentration occur


▪ Lack of attention 

 Lack of interest 

 Lack of motivation 

 Distraction from others

 Uncomfortable environment 

 Illness 

 Tiredness 

 Personal problem 

 Anxieties 

 Worries


Strategies to improve concentration




▪  Deal with internal distraction

▪  Match your learning styles to the task

▪  Monitor your concentration

▪  Create interest in work

▪  Develop a positive attitude toward your work

▪  Use goal setting strategies

▪  Get enough sleep  before you start doing your work.

▪  Fresh up your mind before going to a class by doing a warm up to avoid  a sleepy time in the class.

▪   Bring some candy or a drink to the class so when you start feeling tired, you can freshen up by having some candies or drink a water.

▪  Always write an important notes that lecture always said so that you wouldn't miss a keyword from the lecturer.




Sq3r

Do you know what is SQ3R?



SQ3R is a reading  effective strategy that was combine or being formed as an acronym from Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review. Everyone can use SQ3R when they want to study or doing revision. I'll explain down below about how to use SQ3R  when you want to study.


HERE'S A LITTLE EXPLANATION ABOUT SQ3R 

SURVEY

Make a survey to get an overview of the chapters to read. As example, topic summary, the chart, the graph, the title and the introductory chapter.

question

❤  Build a question while you were reading so that your mind will always looking for the answer.






READ



❤ Read the paragraph for the information.

❤  Find an answer for the question that have been builded. It's help student to stay focus while reading.






Recite





❤  Summarize all the things that you have and rephrase it.
❤  Make a short note or try to remember.
❤  Remember and memorize all the keywords.
 ❤  Efficiency in a topic will increase if thinking is reinforced with training and review.


REVIEW


❤  Do a lot of revision
❤  Review your notes daily to make sure you remember the important keywords.
❤  Try to remember all the question that you have build before this and try to answer it again.
❤  Brief notes are kept in a long-term memory.
